Sacred Councils

The Sacred Council, based on the Native American Tradition of a Listening Circle, provides a space for people to gather together and share stories in a way that one is truly heard and witnessed. There are four intentions to Council: 1) Share from the heart; 2) Listen from the heart; 3) Speak leanly; 4) Be spontaneous. In a Sacred Council we gather in a circle around a sacred center and pass a "talking stick." Only the person holding the stick is allowed to talk. All others are listening and holding compassionate space for that person to share what is coming forward for him/her at that moment. At the end of the circle, if time allows, I am happy to offer feedback to anyone who asks.
